TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, 53066!

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - Critical Care Profession: Nursing Specialty: Critical Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required License: Registered Nurse license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certification required Must-Have: Ventilator and tracheostomy management Tube and drain management Chest tube management Invasive line management (arterial line, central venous pressure) Cardiac rhythm interpretation Surgical recovery experience Medication titration (sedatives, pressors, cardiac medications, pain management, paralytics) Experience with EPIC Description: This position is within the Critical Care unit. The unit consists of 14 beds. The average daily patient census varies. Patient types and common diagnoses include sepsis, pneumonia, COVID-19, COPD, respiratory failure, kidney and liver failure, GI bleeds, DKA, CHF, STEMI/NSTEMI, and postoperative care. Patients may present with trauma from gunshot wounds, stabbings, or falls. Surgical patients include gynecological, gastrointestinal, and genitourinary cases. Neuro patients may include those with subdural hematomas, traumatic brain injuries, strokes, TIAs, or syncopal episodes. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:1 to 3. If assigned more than 2 patients, team nursing is utilized with experienced medical-surgical RNs. Long-term ventilated patients will be managed by the ICU RN, while the medical-surgical RN will support patient care. Charge RNs typically take patient assignments. 1-2 CNAs support each shift. There is centralized telemetry monitoring available. Medical staff includes respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists, available 24/7. Occupational, physical, and speech therapists are on-site during the daytime. The electronic medical record system used is EPIC. Other technologies include IV pumps and medication dispensing systems. Floating may occur within the scope of practice, including to medical-surgical or telemetry units, with a patient ratio of 1:4. Weekend rotation is expected every other week. One holiday per contract is expected. Requests for time off are permissible up to 7 days. Shift times follow a 12-hour schedule from 0700-1900 and 1900-0700. Scheduling is managed in 6-week increments. Professional scrub colors are required without graphics, logos, or designs.
