Expanded Learning (ELT) Flyers After School Program Lead Position in Framingham Public Schools for the 2026-2027 school year in the Department of Expanded Learning Time. The Lead is responsible for supervising and overseeing Flyers after‑school programming at one of the Framingham Public Schools middle schools. Through collaboration with school leaders, community partners, families, and students, the Lead will manage a high‑quality after‑school program featuring socially and academically enriching activities, with a strong focus on hands‑on, project‑based learning. Position Summary The Expanded Learning (ELT) Flyers After School Program Lead will manage and support staff, coordinate with external partners, oversee daily operations, address medical, behavioral, and other student needs, plan community events and field trips, and perform all responsibilities related to running a comprehensive out‑of‑school‑time program. This role supports FPS high expectations for achievement, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive environment for all students. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations First Aid/CPR/AED Certification (required upon hire; prior certification preferred). Safety Care Certification (required upon hire; prior certification preferred). Training and Experience High School diploma or equivalent (required). Additional post‑secondary education credits in a related field preferred. Previous experience in program coordination, family engagement, or community outreach preferred. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred. Organization & Multi‑Tasking – manage program operations, track schedules, compile rosters, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Compliance & Discretion – maintain confidentiality and adhere to district goals, state/federal regulations, and DESE/department policies. Professional Resilience – respond calmly, professionally, and objectively to unpredictable, volatile, or high‑stakes emotional situations, modeling restorative approaches and applying de‑escalation techniques. Collaboration & Teamwork – collaborate with school leadership, community partners, faculty, and colleagues to ensure program success. Staff Supervision & Leadership – manage, support, and coach staff while fostering a positive and productive environment. Cultural Proficiency – foster an equitable and inclusive district environment for all staff, students, and families. Professionalism & Composure – maintain predictable attendance, exhibit professionalism in high‑stakes situations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and oversee a high‑quality after‑school program experience with socially and academically enriching activities, focused on hands‑on, project‑based learning. Supervise, manage, and assist program staff; coordinate internal shift coverage in their absence. Serve as the primary point person for day‑to‑day caregiver questions and concerns. Track daily student attendance, manage program schedules, and maintain accurate student rosters. Coordinate directly with external partners to facilitate enrichment activities and plan community events and field trips. Respond to and document all student injuries, incidents, and behavioral developments on site in accordance with DESE and district policy. Oversee safe administration of medication, First Aid, and CPR in accordance with DESE and district requirements. Maintain a positive and productive environment, facilitate open communication, implement restorative approaches, and model highest standards of behavior per FPS policy. Ensure compliance with all other relevant departmental, district, and DESE policies/procedures. Maintain a safe, inclusive, welcoming, and culturally responsive learning environment during all program hours. Other Duties As Assigned Physical Working Conditions Mobility – navigate school building and grounds, including classrooms, cafeterias, and playgrounds. Stationary tasks – remain in a stationary position for significant periods for instruction, admin tasks, and meetings. Sensory requirements – see and hear continuously to ensure student safety, monitor operations, and provide instruction. Communication – communicate effectively with students, parents, and district personnel in person, via email, phone, or video conference. Manual dexterity & technology – use hands to handle objects, operate a computer and instructional technology. General physical strength – lift, move, and position materials and equipment up to 30 lbs. Work environment – adapt to dynamic, higher‑noise school environments during instruction, recess, and observations. Interaction & focus – interact with diverse stakeholders, meet multiple demands, and maintain focus amidst interruptions. School environment exposure – navigate classrooms, cafeterias, and playgrounds with varying noise and activity levels. Behavioral de‑escalation & resilience – remain calm and professional when exposed to student behavioral challenges or high‑stakes emotional situations. Reports To Director of Expanded Learning Time (ELT) (and/or designee). Performance evaluated per Framingham School Committee Contract. FLSA Classification Non‑Exempt (Hourly). Terms of Employment Covered under Framingham School Committee Contract. Work year: 180 days (Ten‑Months). Shifts and schedules vary; may be requested to work at different sites. Hours & schedule: 2:15 pm – 5:15 pm. Days: Monday–Thursday strongly preferred; can split shifts with another candidate (minimum 2 days/week). Program requirements: attend seasonal professional development sessions (September and March) and monthly check‑in meetings with the Director and/or designee.
