Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and experienced VPK Lead Teacher to join our team! You will be working along side with our Lead VPK Teacher. Together,  you will share the daily responsibilities teaching 12 students. After VPK hours, you will work with a group of aftercare students.  As a VPK teacher, you will be leading a class of students through the school year, assessing their current academic level, and designing instruction to meet students’ collective and individual needs.

You are passionate about learning and helping students reach their potential. With strong creative and problem-solving skills, you love connecting with individual students and creating an engaging classroom environment. 

Responsibilities

• Create and follow a comprehensive curriculum
• Teach beginning reading and math skills
• Assist children with developing social and emotional skills
• Use a range of instructional methods and learning techniques
• Communicate with parents and other school personnel
• Assess student's skills and performance to ensure they are meeting developmental milestones
• Supervise aftercare students after VPK hours 

Qualifications

• CDA or higher 
• Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in education and classroom management
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of classroom health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and ability to closely adhere to the guidelines
• Problem-solving and mediation skills
