Position Summary The Senior Manager, International Policy reports to the Managing Director, Global Policy and is a key member of the Policy team. The role involves managing a network of climate and clean energy experts, providing policy research and analysis, writing and strategic guidance on international conservation and climate policy, and acting as a visible representative of Audubon with international organizations, government agencies and partner organizations. The position is hybrid, requiring office presence Mondays and Tuesdays and two additional days each month chosen by the employee. Essential Functions Facilitate the operation of a network of climate and clean energy experts, including virtual meetings, in‑person events, listservs, discussion groups, and documentation. Provide research, analysis, and policy input on domestic and international climate and clean energy issues. Contribute policy research, analysis, writing, and strategic guidance on international conservation and climate topics that advance Audubon’s Healthy Birds, Healthy Planet agenda. Identify opportunities and priorities to advance international policy goals. Support Audubon engagement in key global, regional, and non‑U.S. policy events and meetings. Develop and implement strategies in partnership with policy and other staff across the organization. Prepare high‑quality policy analysis, fact sheets, position papers, presentations, and other materials necessary to advance Audubon’s international policy priorities. Represent Audubon with key international partners and stakeholder groups, monitoring activities and helping to advance policy positions. Mobilize key allies and stakeholders in international organizations, governments, NGOs, companies, and philanthropies to amplify Audubon international policy priorities in key fora. Serve as a resource for Audubon staff working on international policy issues. Support philanthropy by identifying and stewarding opportunities for funding to support conservation and climate priorities. Collaborate with colleagues across the organization, including joint planning and execution of shared priorities. Maintain and foster a culture of safety. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in political science, international relations, economics, natural resources, or related field, and 7+ years of relevant experience with a federal agency, international organization, or policy‑oriented nonprofit. Experience working in national or international climate negotiations or U.S. climate/clean energy foreign assistance. Experience coordinating networks, partnerships, or working groups. History of managing and reporting on funded projects. Experience working with international organizations and partnerships. Demonstrated diplomatic engagement with a wide range of stakeholders. Outstanding policy analysis and research skills, with the ability to manage complex workflows independently. Excellent written communication, public speaking, and representation skills. Exceptional judgment, creativity, and strategic recommendation ability. Self‑starter with experience in decentralized environments and cross‑department collaboration. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to teamwork. Passion for climate and conservation, and alignment with Audubon’s mission. Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Compensation Salary ranges are based on geographic location and are available for the specific office listed in the application.
