Shipping Clerk

This is a shipping position in a small environment. Previous shipping clerk experience and forklift is required.

The expectations of this position are as follows: Shipment of product from the fulfillment center, communications to account managers, sales reps, email management, management of various release dates, daily management of carriers (UPS/FedEx) and all aspects as related to the shipping process.

Basic functions of this position include:

• Daily shipping of small parcel packages via UPS and Fed Ex through the shipping management software.
• Work directly with the fulfillment team, account managers and sales reps to ensure all customer shipments, deliveries, and pickups are completed in a timely manner and to the satisfaction of the customer.
• Manage and maintain details and organization of large future shipments
• Manage the carrier pickups, and manage drop trailers, live loads, and skim pickups
• Resolve all issues, such as orders shipped to an incorrect address, damaged product, lost product, late delivery, etc.
• Help with any other aspects of the fulfillment center as needed.

Requirements:

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Initiative to take ownership of your work and responsibilities of the shipping department
• Computer knowledge (Microsoft Office), especially Outlook
• Ability to learn, and grasp the knowledge of the new software as introduced
• Knowledge or the ability to learn and understand the requirements of foreign shipments
• Ability to multi-task, perform under pressure, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail, as each client is unique
• Time management and problem-solving skills
• Receiving knowledge for back up
• The ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly
• Ability to operate manual and electric power pallet jack
• Dependability - due to the limited number of employees within the fulfillment operation
• Overtime will be required at times (early morning, evenings, weekends, & possibly holidays, this is mandatory not optional)
• Shipping is that last to leave and is required to lock both gates at the end of the workday

Physical Demands of this Position:

• Bending, Lifting, Twisting, Sitting, Stacking, and Walking frequently throughout the day
• Lifting boxes up to 50 pounds frequently
• Pushing and pulling
• Perform activities that use the whole body
• Able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
• Able to stand or sit for long periods of time.
