Shipping Clerk

Job Description

The purpose of this position is to perform clerical functions in the shipping department.

Responsibilities:

• Process outbound shipments in accordance with customer, carrier, and company requirements
• Prepare and verify shipping documentation including bills of lading, packing lists, and transfer paperwork
• Enter, review, and maintain shipment data accurately in the INFOR system
• Verify product quantities, lot codes, and pallet counts prior to shipment
• Coordinate with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to ensure shipment readiness
• Schedule and communicate with carriers regarding pickup times and load details
• Ensure all shipments meet quality, safety, and food defense standards
• Monitor and report shipping discrepancies, damages, or shortages
• Maintain organized shipping records and support audits as required
• Back up inventory clerk as needed
• Forklift certification required (or ability to obtain certification)
• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment
• Assist with month end inventory
• Set and schedule appointments in INFOR
• Assist with loading when necessary
• Assist in fixing discrepancies with labels within INFOR (container ID's, QTY, etc)

Qualifications:
Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Associate degree preferred.

Related Experience : 3-5 years of relevant experience

Equipment/Software Skills : Proficient (or ability to become proficient) use of Word/Excel and various inventory systems.

Additional Information

Physical: This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, bend, kneel, stand for extended periods, work in confined spaces, and work at heights.

Sensory: Must have the appropriate level of sensory acuity (visual, hearing, speaking, smell and touch) to be able to identify and react to normal, abnormal and alarm conditions (chemicals, temperature, etc.)

Mental/Reasoning : Must be able to logically and methodically work through and break down complex problems and processes to enable effective communication with all levels of the organization.

Must sign a release to consent a drug screening.
