Veterinary Technician – Radiation Oncology Garden State Veterinary Specialists, Eatontown, NJ 07724 We are looking for a Veterinary Technician in the Radiation Oncology department. Proficiency in anesthesia monitoring is required. Responsibilities Oversee appointments and manage clients throughout their visit. Participate with the Oncologist’s in‑patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures. Provide injectable chemotherapy and radiation therapy depending on patient diagnosis. Obtain and process laboratory samples such as blood, urine, free fluid, and fine needle aspirates. Utilize imaging modalities for patient and procedural assessment such as radiography and CT. Execute, monitor, and recover all assigned sedation and anesthetic events. Calculate and deliver anesthetic agents, fluids, and CRIs accurately. Review and understand all medical records pertinent to patient care. Provide empathy, comfort, and nursing care, acting as a patient advocate during hospitalization. Maintain all equipment on a per‑use basis ensuring safety and best practice. Communicate and educate clients on various oncology disease processes. Qualifications CVT/LVT/RVT preferred, or a minimum of 2 years experience as a Veterinary Technician. Proficiency in anesthesia required. Experience in oncology ideal but willing to train the right candidate. Strong verbal and written communication, organizational skills, proactive thinking, and positive attitude. Enjoyable team collaboration and commitment to develop long‑term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community. Honesty, integrity, and a desire to learn and have fun.
