Production Lead

Operations leads will be part of the direct manufacturing team and will spend approximately 95% of their time performing the same duties as other operators or welders in their work area. Approximately 5% of their time will be spent performing other tasks such as changeovers, troubleshooting issues with the line, first piece acceptance and training in the cell.

Performs tasks / standard work of production operator or welders in the work area

Understanding of safety policies, practices and rules that apply to assigned area, including Hazcom labels, MSDS information, LOTO procedures. Promotion of Safety within in the cell and primary contact to ensure proper reaction to and reporting of injury and/or illness.

Communicate staffing needs to Production Supervisor

Monitoring of job rotation schedule and escalate where issues arise

Provide first response to line problems. Document problems, resolve when possible and follow-up with appropriate resource or group to ensure problem is corrected.

Demonstration and encouragement of teamwork among associates. Conduct and/or coordinate training of associates. Facilitation of team to ensure build sequence follows documented standardized work.

Monitoring and maintenance of 5S in the workplace and escalate where necessary

Assist with changeovers, troubleshooting and first piece inspection processes. Provides daily update on operations to Supervisor.

Minimum of High School diploma or equivalency is necessary.

1 year manufacturing experience

Ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to adapt to changing work requirements. Ability to emulate strong interpersonal skills and effectively interact with people. Ability to use measuring and gauging devices Ability to perform all cell jobs at Takt time Mechanical aptitude with the ability to learn basic PM and minor machine adjustment Analytical problem solving, facilitation and decision making abilities Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form. Often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. Frequently required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and lift up to 50 lbs. Vision abilities required include close vision

Exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles 90% of the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
