Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Freeport, Illinois. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/08/2026 Duration: 18 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Medical Surgical Nurse, located in the area, is responsible for providing compassionate, high-quality patient care within a busy acute care setting. This role involves managing post-operative recovery patients and medical-surgical cases, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes for a diverse patient population. Job Details Specialty: Medical Surgical Floor Certification: BLS Certification required Education/Degree: BSN preferred, licensure to submit required Location Requirement: Must hold a valid nursing license to submit Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent post-operative recovery experience; first-time travelers are welcome Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) with every other weekend requirement and holiday rotation Float: Float rotation may be required for ICU or Telemetry to take Medical Surgical overflow, limited to scope of practice Responsibilities include monitoring post-operative patients with diagnoses such as general, orthopedic, podiatry, and general medical conditions including DM PN, CHF COPD, cellulitis, and others.
