Registered Nurse, Adult Emergency Department, 24 Hours (Night / Weekends)

Position Registered Nurse – Adult Emergency Department (24‑hour Night/Weekend rotation) Location Boston’s South End – Adult Emergency Department, Level One Trauma Center & Comprehensive Stroke Center Schedule 24 Hours (Night / Weekends) Position Summary As an RN in the Emergency Department, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional, patient‑centered care within a supportive nursing organization. Job Responsibilities Deliver nursing care in the Adult Emergency Department, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients. Communicate with various health‑care team members, patients, and their families. Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter‑professional colleagues. Update and manage patient records. Enter and interpret computerized data/information. Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization. Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects. Job Requirements Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. 1+ years of RN experience preferred. BLS certification required; ACLS certification required for certain units. Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred). Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years. Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty; certification required for certain practice areas. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
