ConsMin produces some of the world’s highest grade manganese ore and is considered a world leader in manganese mining. Our Australian operation (Woodie Woodie) is based in the WA Pilbara, 407kms south-east of Port Hedland and is a short two-hour flight direct to our well-equipped camp and mining operation - only a five-minute drive from Woodie airport. Job Description This position operates on 14 days on, 14 days off rotation. Reporting to the Superintendent: Mobile Maintenance, your key responsibilities would be: Lead with Safety : Promote and uphold a strong safety culture by ensuring all tasks are performed in line with safe work practices and compliance requirements. Execute Maintenance Plans : Take ownership of the weekly mobile maintenance schedule, ensuring timely and effective execution of planned activities. Planning & Scheduling : Assist in developing weekly maintenance schedules for a fleet of predominantly CAT equipment, including: Hitachi EX3600 CAT 6020B CAT 980H, 988K & 992K Loaders CAT 16M Graders CAT D10T & 854K Dozers 789 C&D Dump Trucks 777G Dump Trucks & 777G/F Water Carts Maximise Workshop Efficiency : Prioritise equipment and coordinate personnel to ensure high machine availability and operational reliability. Team Engagement : Lead daily and weekly workforce meetings to align team efforts and drive performance. Contractor Oversight : Manage maintenance contractors, ensuring compliance with safety standards and contractual obligations. Apply OEM Knowledge : Leverage your understanding of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) processes to support maintenance excellence. Mentor and Guide : Provide technical support and coaching to mobile maintenance personnel to build capability and confidence. Build the Team : Identify workforce needs, participate in recruitment, and contribute to building a high-performing team. Drive Performance : Set clear KPIs, support training and development, and manage performance to foster a culture of accountability and growth. Support Planning & Compliance : Guide Team Leads and Planners on job scoping and work orders, ensuring alignment with company systems and standards. Requirements to be successful in this role are: Supervisory experience in mobile maintenance within an operational mining environment. Strong background in employee relations, including leadership and technical coaching, performance management aligned with KPIs and company values. Technical Expertise : Hands‑on experience with field service repairs, preventative maintenance, and fault diagnostics. Ability to interpret OEM manuals and schematics with confidence. In-depth product knowledge of CAT equipment. Excellent time management and planning skills to keep operations running smoothly. Clear and confident communication across all levels of the workforce. A passion for mentoring and supporting team development through knowledge sharing. A strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards and procedures. High level of computer literacy, particularly with systems such as Pronto, CAT SIS, ET, and the Microsoft Office Suite. Licensing & Qualifications : Valid C Class Driver’s Licence. Trade Qualification: Mobile Plant Fitter – Heavy Diesel.
