Job Description

Site Manager

Heartwood Residential Design + Build
Campbell, CA | Full-Time | On-site
$35-$45 per hour, depending on experience

About Heartwood Residential

Heartwood Residential Design + Build is a family-owned remodeling company serving Silicon Valley. We believe good construction depends on more than the finished work. Careful planning, clear communication, an organized jobsite, and attention to detail along the way all matter.

We're looking for a Site Manager who takes that same approach in the field. You'll help keep our active jobsites clean, protected, organized, and ready for the work ahead; coordinate access, materials, deliveries, and day-to-day logistics; document what's happening; and identify issues before they become bigger problems.

This is a hands-on field role for someone who understands residential remodeling, pays attention to what others might miss, and takes pride in helping a project run well. The Site Manager reports to the Project Lead, with the opportunity to grow into broader Project Lead responsibilities over time.

What You'll Do

• Keep jobsites clean, protected, organized, and ready for the next phase of work.
• Help trade partners start well by preparing access, materials, and site conditions under the Project Lead's direction.
• Receive, organize, and protect materials, finishes, and shared site resources.
• Give the Project Lead a reliable picture of work and site conditions through clear updates and early notice of concerns.
• Set a professional tone on site and reinforce Heartwood standards with trades, clients, neighbors, and visitors.

How You'll Work

• Visit assigned sites consistently and adjust your field plans as conditions change.
• Look ahead to upcoming work so site needs are handled before they slow the project.
• Take initiative on routine site matters and follow through with trade partners.
• Keep useful photos and accurate daily field records in Buildertrend, including updates when you are not on site.
• Work closely with the Project Lead, bringing scope, technical, schedule, and client questions to them promptly.

What We're Looking For

Required

• At least two years of residential remodeling or construction experience, including time on active residential jobsites.
• Working knowledge of construction sequencing, plans, project scope, and subcontractor coordination.
• Strong organization, follow-through, attention to detail, and clear professional communication.
• Ability to work independently in the field while following the Project Lead's direction and escalating decisions appropriately.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree or additional training in construction, building science, or project management.
• Experience with Buildertrend or another construction management platform.
• Familiarity with California residential construction and inspections.

What Success Looks Like

• Jobsites are clean, protected, and ready for work; trades can start without avoidable site delays.
• Materials are accounted for, documented, organized, and protected.
• Field documentation is timely and useful, and emerging issues reach the Project Lead early.
• Clients and trade partners experience professional, well-managed jobsite conditions.

Compensation and Benefits

• $35-$45 per hour, depending on experience
• Company truck
• Company tablet
• Tool allowance
• Health, dental, and vision insurance
• Retirement benefits
• Paid holidays and PTO
• Paid certifications and continuing education

Growth Opportunity

Heartwood Residential supports professional development. As you demonstrate strong performance in the Site Manager role, there is an opportunity to take on broader Project Lead responsibilities, including increased involvement in scheduling, financial controls, trade coordination, and client meetings.

Please submit your resume and a brief summary of your residential construction experience, including the types of remodeling projects and jobsites you have worked on.
