Job Summary:

The Unit Dietitian (RD) or Nutritionist (RDN) provides specialized nutritional assessment and care for adult hospitalist and general pediatric patients. This role involves managing a caseload of 8-10 patients daily, addressing various medical conditions through clinical nutrition expertise.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Evaluate patient nutritional status and develop individualized care plans.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with healthcare teams to implement nutritional interventions.
  
  
• 
  Monitor and document patient progress using the EMR system.
  
  
• 
  Participate in on-call duties remotely every 4-8 weeks for both adult and pediatric coverage.
  
  
• 
  Provide nutritional consultation for patients with conditions such as obesity, cancer, celiac disease, hypertension, and malnutrition.
  
  
• 
  Maintain compliance with department protocols and specific unit orientation.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold active Registered Dietitian (RD) certification and WV State Licensure.
  
  
• 
  Possess at least one year of inpatient clinical experience.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate experience or familiarity with pediatric hospitalist nutritional management.
  
  
• 
  Exhibit strong communication skills and attention to detail in patient care documentation.
  
  
• 
  Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to on-call responsibilities.
