An established and highly respected civil defense litigation firm is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join its growing litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career attorney to gain meaningful hands-on experience, work alongside experienced litigators, and develop a strong foundation in civil defense practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of civil defense litigation with guidance from senior attorneys.

• Handle discovery, including drafting responses and reviewing discovery requests.

• Draft motions, legal memoranda, pleadings, and other litigation documents.

• Conduct legal research and develop case theories and litigation strategies.

• Investigate cases and analyze relevant facts and evidence.

• Review medical records and technical documentation.

• Coordinate with clients, co-counsel, experts, opposing counsel, and courts.

• Prepare case evaluations, status reports, and client updates.

• Manage multiple matters and meet important deadlines.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of civil litigation defense experience.

• Active Missouri Bar membership required.

• Illinois Bar admission is a plus.

• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities.

• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.

• Strong team player with a commitment to high-quality legal work.
