Position Overview

The Food Runner plays an essential role in delivering an exceptional dining experience by ensuring food is delivered accurately, promptly, and professionally from the kitchen to guests. This position serves as a vital link between the culinary and front-of-house teams, helping maintain smooth restaurant operations and high service standards. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and committed to providing outstanding hospitality in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver food orders accurately and promptly to guests.
• Verify food presentation, garnishments, and order accuracy before leaving the kitchen.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and managers regarding guest needs and order status.
• Describe menu items and answer basic guest questions when delivering food.
• Assist servers with table maintenance, including clearing plates and resetting tables as needed.
• Ensure guest satisfaction by responding quickly to requests and notifying servers of any concerns.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations and dining areas.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company service standards.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant or customer service experience preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Positive attitude with a guest-focused approach to hospitality.
• Ability to stand, walk, carry trays, and lift up to 25 pounds for extended periods.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.

A successful Food Runner ensures guests receive their meals quickly, accurately, and with a high level of hospitality. They contribute to seamless communication between the kitchen and service teams, support efficient restaurant operations, and help create memorable dining experiences for every guest.
