As the one-stop-shop leader for traffic management systems, sensor products, and services, Econolite is committed to the advancement of connected and autonomous vehicles, smart cities, and cybersecurity.Under general direction, lead and support the ITS performing skilled work in the installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of traffic signals and other Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) devices.Duties:Installation, maintenance, replacement, programming, repair and troubleshooting of ITS equipment, including CCTV cameras, video detection, radar detection, loop detectors, dynamic message signs, connected vehicle RSU's, poles, etc. and associated cabinets, cabling, etc. Also to include communications equipment such as managed field ethernet switches, fiber, copper, etc.Installation, maintenance, replacement, programming, repair and troubleshooting of street lighting and traffic signals, including traffic signal controllers, cabinets, detection, wiring, signal heads, poles, etc., as well as communications equipment.Field implementation of traffic control devices as needed (signs, cones, etc.)Includes driving / operation of a bucket truck for traffic signal and ITS maintenance dutiesAssist in the training of new technicians; perform all job functions of Maintenance TechnicianPerform all job functions of ITS Technician and any other assignments as requestedMay require on-call on-site response for customer call outs, including nights and weekendsMay include travel within Florida and / or within the USServes as a proactive customer service & quality ambassador of Econolite by representing the organization in a positive, professional manner to support The Brand PromisePerforms other duties as required and assignedQualifications:Five (5) years of related experienceIMSA Level II or IMSA Level III certification preferredFDOT Temporary Traffic Control Certification preferredElectrician License preferredKnowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulationsKnowledge of tools, equipment, practices, and methods used in installing, maintaining, and repairing traffic signals, ITS devices and associated equipmentKnowledge of principles and practices of traffic control guidelines, both state and localVideo Detection configuration, troubleshooting and repair experienceKnowledge of fiber optic cable & networking equipment, Fiber training preferredKnowledge of pre-emption system installation, maintenance and testing.Ability to interpret design schematics, site plans, maps, and engineering drawingsAbility to troubleshoot and repair data communication equipment and cableAbility to troubleshoot and repair problems inherent to traffic signals and other ITS equipmentAbility to wire and connect cables necessary for operation of signalized intersectionsKnowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local codes, laws, and regulations regarding electronicsEstablishes and maintains effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of workPass all necessary background/pre-employment checksMust have a valid Driver's License and an acceptable DMV record; commercial driver's license preferredAbility to exert moderate physical effort, typically involving, some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 50 pounds.)Computer software skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications such as MS Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.Business Travel & Hours:100% travel to project locations and company facilities across the various counties within the Orlanda, FL area.Some or all hours may be during 3rd shiftPhysical Requirements:Must be able to stand, walk, squat, and bend at the waist for extended periods of timeSafety sensitive position—will be required to work at busy traffic intersectionsRequired to drive up to five hours a day; ability to lift and carry up to 40 poundsMay work in various, changing outdoor weather conditions, i.e. rain, heat, etc.Pre-Employment:All candidates who accept employment will be subject to a background investigation and drug screening.
