Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician II to support manufacturing operations through electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair. This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and improving production machinery and equipment while supporting preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve reliability.

This position is fully onsite in a manufacturing plant environment and requires strong hands-on technical ability and independent decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Support PLC troubleshooting and basic controls-related maintenance activities
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment and machinery
• Install, maintain, and repair industrial equipment using hand and power tools
• Use electrical/electronic testing and measuring instruments for diagnostics
• Work from blueprints, technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance drawings
• Perform welding, brazing, cutting, and fabrication as needed
• Identify and implement improvements to reduce scrap, downtime, and maintenance costs
• Maintain safety compliance including lockout/tagout and machine guarding standards
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices
• Train and assist other maintenance team members when required

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, and PLCs
• Proficiency with hand and power tools (drill press, band saws, grinders, hydraulic press, etc.)
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Experience performing preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Preferred Skills

• PLC troubleshooting experience (industrial controls)
• Welding (gas and electric), brazing, and cutting
• Strong mechanical aptitude and tooling knowledge
• Ability to interpret schematics, manuals, and engineering drawings
• Team collaboration and training support experience

Work Environment

• Manufacturing plant setting with required PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, steel/composite toe footwear)
• Standing for extended periods and hands-on mechanical work required
• Compliance with ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 and IATF 16949 standards

Ideal Candidate Profile

Industrial Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, Electro-Mechanical Technician, or PLC Technician with strong hands-on troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

Location & Commute

Candidates should be based within Bellefontaine, OH and surrounding areas (Logan, Champaign, Hardin, Union, Shelby, Auglaize, Clark, Allen, Marion, Miami counties). A practical commute of up to ~45 minutes is recommended due to full onsite requirements.
