Office Location: University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, 1201 W. University Drive, Human Resources, MASS Building 2nd Floor, Edinburg, TX 78539. Lecturer in Psychological Science/College of Liberal Arts We seek applicants who are dedicated to serving The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley’s student body as a Lecturer I of Psychological Science beginning in the 2026-2027 academic year. The successful candidate will teach in the Bachelor’s, Master’s, and/or Doctoral programs. Responsibilities Deliver quality instruction within the program beginning Fall 2026. Assignment of teaching may be made to the Edinburg, Brownsville, or online campus depending on the needs of the Department. Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in Psychology or a related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Psychology. Discipline Specific Required Qualifications University teaching experience and ability/willingness to use technology to support teaching and learning. Preferred Qualifications Ph.D. in Psychology. Experience working with full- and part-time first-generation students. Teaching at the graduate level requires a doctoral degree and/or graduate faculty status. The position is security sensitive and subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215. Texas law requires faculty members whose primary language is not English to demonstrate proficiency in English as determined by a satisfactory paper-based test score of 500 (computer-based of 173 or internet-based of 61) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or a satisfactory test score of 6.0 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
