Finance Analyst

Position Summary Headquartered in Englewood Cliffs, N.J., Samsung Electronics America, Inc. The proposed position will provide assistance with SEA CE SVC financial reporting and analysis. It will participate in financial reporting, manage budgetary and overhead expenses, perform month‑end closing, expense forecasting, regulatory compliance and provide detailed analysis reports to the director. Role and Responsibilities Prepare and perform month‑end closing, financial forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics tracking to help senior management make well‑informed decisions. Prepare monthly Profit and Loss data for the CE service division and consolidate SEA service P&L data for the CSD monthly leadership meeting. Manage expense postings and accruals based on accounting rules and principles. Assist in analyzing actual operating results at month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end, compare to the forecasted monthly/annual plan and present findings to the senior manager. Consolidate recurring and project expenditures of each division to prepare the annual management plan for the following year based on historical data, forecasting and HQ guidelines. Prepare various financial reports to ensure spending is managed within company policy, the management plan and the annual budget. Communicate with PICs and project owners to identify causes of increases or decreases in expenditures and respond to inquiries from senior management and HQ. Assist finance‑related inquiries and establish guidelines and policies to support the CE SVC division regarding budget, expense, travel and other needs. Prepare monthly performance reports with reconciled HQ data and submit them to NAHQ. Manage A/R open items by submitting claims to different Samsung subsidiaries and re‑classifying them. Make manual journal entries for the G/L allocation monthly, and for budget adjustments for the responsible cost centers. Review and set up approval paths in compliance with CE SVC guidelines. Publish official letters to the CE service division to announce regulation, compliance and guidelines. Skills and Qualifications 3-7 years of professional experience in a related area (Accounting or Finance). Master’s degree in accounting. Advanced skills in Excel – heavy use of Excel in this role. Experience with SAP. Database extraction and analysis experience. Enthusiastic and eager to learn and grow with the team.
