About the Position

• Prepare adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients for sleep disorder testing.

• Prepare and verify equipment used for polysomnographic studies.

• Monitor polysomnograms throughout sleep studies and document results according to policy.

• Recognize and appropriately monitor sleep activity, abnormalities, movement arousals, and respiratory events.

• Maintain accurate patient and study documentation.

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.

• Follow department policies, procedures, and patient safety standards.

• Provide care appropriate to patients across the adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist or within the specialty.

• Experience with sleep studies/polysomnography required.

• Demonstrated knowledge of:

  • Sleep disorders

  • Sleep activity and abnormalities

  • Movement arousals

  • Respiratory events

• Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification.

• Current and unrestricted RPSGT (Registered Polysomnographic Technologist) certification/registration through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) .
