W2 Contract 12 with potential extension/conversion
Job Overview
We are seeking a Lead Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs that support data-intensive applications, real-time processing, and AI-driven solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience building distributed systems, cloud-native applications, and high-performance APIs while providing technical leadership on large-scale initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs.
Build and optimize real-time data services that support AI/ML and predictive analytics platforms.
Develop microservices-based applications using modern backend technologies.
Collaborate with architects, data engineers, and product teams to deliver scalable solutions.
Design and implement cloud-native applications using containerized environments.
Ensure high availability, performance, security, and reliability of backend systems.
Participate in architecture discussions and provide technical leadership for complex projects.
Implement and support CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
Optimize database performance and data integration processes.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on backend development.
Strong programming experience in JAVA, Python, or Golang.
Experience building scalable APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
Hands-on experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift (OpenShift preferred).
Experience working in Linux environments.
Strong understanding of API design, performance tuning, and system scalability.
Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
Proven experience leading projects and contributing to architectural decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with JAVA Microservice.
Experience with BigQuery and/or BigTable.
Experience with MongoDB and Redis.
Exposure to AI/ML platforms, predictive analytics, or data engineering solutions.
Experience with React JS and Rust or C++ is a plus.
Prior experience leading technical teams or mentoring engineers.
