Role Overview:

We're working on behalf of an established enterprise software company on a search for a Staff Software Engineer to join a product engineering team building production AI into a platform used by audit and finance professionals. The product has real customers and real scale, and the team is now adding agents, retrieval and document understanding on top of it. This is a hands-on role: C#/.NET for backend and distributed systems, and Python for LLM integration, agents, orchestration and retrieval. At the Staff level you'll set technical direction, influence engineering standards and mentor engineers while still designing and writing production code. This is for someone who has already shipped AI into production, not someone who has only experimented with it.

What You'll Do:

• Design, build and own C#/.NET backend and distributed services on AWS and PostgreSQL
• Build production AI capabilities in Python: LLM integration, agents, orchestration and multi-step workflows
• Develop AI orchestration, MCP servers, tool calling, guardrails, evaluation and resilient handling of third-party LLMs
• Build retrieval and search capabilities (embeddings, vector stores, semantic search) over large document sets
• Set technical direction, mentor engineers and help define AI engineering patterns across the team

What We're Looking For:

• 7+ years of software engineering, with strong, recent production C#/.NET and ASP.NET Core experience
• Hands-on Python for AI/ML work: model integration, orchestration, APIs or data pipelines
• AI features you've personally built and delivered into production (LLM apps, agents or RAG). Personal projects and proofs of concept alone don't meet this bar
• Distributed-systems experience: microservices, REST or GraphQL APIs, relational databases, observability and resilience
• Experience leading complex projects from architecture through rollout, and mentoring engineers
• Comfortable with a live technical interview in both Python and C#/.NET Core
• Nice to have: Orleans or Akka (actor-model frameworks), Angular/TypeScript, Docker/Kubernetes, and exposure to regulated domains such as audit, tax, fintech or legal tech.
