This isn't just an estimating job. It's a chance to take full ownership of a high-stakes function at a firm with a 40+ year reputation for excellence in commercial landscape construction. As Site Work Estimator, you will lead the full estimating cycle from takeoff through bid submission, working directly with the Construction Department Head to price, strategize, and win work across Connecticut and beyond.

You will step into a self-performing specialty contractor with active Tier 1 GC relationships (Turner, Whiting Turner), a Master Builder's license, and an active expansion into Westchester County, NY and Northern New Jersey. The expectation is clear: double the division's estimating throughput and help drive $30M to $50M in annual estimated volume.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle estimating for commercial site work: materials moving, concrete, pavement, light poles, electrical, drainage, and site amenities
• Estimate green roof and waterproofing scopes
• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs using Sage Estimating and eTakeoff
• Build accurate cost estimates incorporating self-performed and subcontracted work
• Develop and submit bids to Tier 1 GCs and private developers
• Own the submittal process from initial RFP through final bid
• Maintain bid logs, project files, and historical cost data in Sage 300 CRE
• Attend job meetings and pre-construction meetings as needed
• Process change orders and price scope additions for active projects
• Solicit, analyze, and manage subcontractor and supplier pricing

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial site work estimating experience
• Strong civil construction knowledge: site preparation, concrete, paving, electrical, drainage, and site amenities
• Submittal process expertise on Tier 1 GC and private development projects
• Proficiency with electronic takeoff tools (eTakeoff or similar)
• Proficiency with Sage Estimating, Sage 300 CRE, Procore, or similar platforms
• Valid driver's license; ability to work full-time on-site in North Haven, CT
• Green roof, waterproofing, or specialty site systems experience preferred
• Light PM exposure (change orders, job meetings, RFP coordination) a plus

Compensation and Benefits

• Base Salary: $75,000 to $95,000, commensurate with experience
