Ultrasound Technologist

Job OverviewHere at Fairview, we are now seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to join our imaging team at our Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN! This is a .6 FTE (48 hours per 2 weeks) position that will work the following schedule with 1 rotating holiday per year:Week 1: Monday, Thursday, Friday from 3PM - 11PMWeek 2: Tuesday from 10:30AM - 7PM, Thursday and Friday from 3PM - 11PMThe Technologist position provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of diagnostic images appropriate to the age of the patient exam ordered. Responsible for meeting the established standards of practice and patient care, supplies and equipment and for coordinating teamwork with all the members of the health care team. ResponsibilitiesPerforms diagnostic and therapeutic proceduresPerforms examinations with technical accuracy and in a timely manner.Verifies patient identification and documentationReviews physician order prior to exam or procedure.Communicates pertinent information to the appropriate health care professional.Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol.Communicates with and educates patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of examRecognizes structures visualized and understands their significance.Accurately produces and records measurements according to protocols.Accurately conveys initial findings and clinical data to radiologists.Participates in creating a culture of patient safetyDemonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness for facilityEnsures patient data integrityAccurately completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, billing, and status changes in a timely fashion.Performs accurate image identification, record preparation, and digital image manipulation and archiving.Assembles similar relevant exams and reports.Documents initial and ongoing data, interventions, responses/results, or interventions consistent with established policies/procedures/guidelines.Participates as an active team memberOrients and mentors’ new employees and studentsParticipates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiativesAssumes responsibility for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for positionCleans and maintains rooms and suppliesAccepts unique customer service expectations in ImagingCorrectly operates equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines and according to manufacturers’ Information for UseIdentifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is in working order according to Department guidelinesAcquires technical competency as new technology is introduced into the facility.Correctly operates and optimizes the use of equipment.Executes downtime proceduresRequired QualificationsARDMS registered in one specialty or ARRT RT (S) within 90 DaysBasic Life Support (American Heart Association or Red Cross) Upon HirePreferred QualificationsARDMS registered in multiple specialties Upon HireBenefit OverviewFairview offers a generous benefit package including but not limited to medical, dental, vision plans, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, PTO and Sick and Safe Time, tuition reimbursement, retirement, early access to earned wages, and more!
