Position Summary The role is responsible for designing, delivering, and supporting scalable, secure, and cost‑effective technology solutions that align with the association’s business objectives. This position serves as a primary technical authority across key systems, cloud platforms, and integrations, applying a cloud‑first mindset while balancing scope, cost, and resource considerations. The role collaborates closely with internal and external stakeholders to define functional and technical requirements, engineer interoperable and extensible solutions, and ensures adherence to SEIA’s IT governance and compliance standards. In addition to solution design, the position provides advanced technical support, including last‑line‑of‑support for complex system issues, and contributes to the maintenance of existing infrastructure, including networks, servers, end‑user devices, and cloud environments. The role emphasizes knowledge sharing through mentorship, technical guidance, and training, while continuously identifying opportunities for automation, process improvement, and modernization. Strong collaboration, clear documentation, and staying informed on emerging technologies are essential to ensuring smooth solution delivery, operational excellence, and long‑term technology sustainability. Core Duties and Responsibilities 1. Solution Design and Delivery Provide sound and well‑crafted technical solutions that meet the needs of the association, weighing cost‑benefit factors. Evaluate and balance factors such as scope, cost, and resources when delivering and designing solutions. Participate and lead with internal and external stakeholders to identify and clarify functional and technical requirements. Engineer solutions that are scalable, interoperable, and extensible, favoring a “cloud‑first” approach. 2. Technical Expertise and Support Act as the primary technical authority for key business systems, cloud platforms, and systems integration. Identify technical and business rule issues, propose solutions, workarounds, and implementation guidance. Contribute to the maintenance and support of existing IT systems, including network devices, servers, laptops, and cloud infrastructure. Serve as the last line of support for end‑user technical support, assisting and responding to system issues. Ensure solutions adhere to SEIA’s IT governance and compliance standards. 3. Knowledge Sharing and Guidance Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to junior IT staff and stakeholders, in some cases, SEIA members. Identify opportunities to enhance efficiencies through automation, process improvement, and modernization. Maintain awareness of emerging technologies as applicable to SEIA’s technology stack and recommend practical adoption strategies. 4. Collaboration and Documentation Collaborate across the association to ensure smooth solution delivery and post‑deployment support. Produce product quality documentation, including SOPs, system diagrams, and architectural design. Qualifications 5+ years of progressing experience in solutioning, design, and implementation of systems, solving moderate to complex infrastructure and business systems. 3+ years serving in technical leadership roles. 3+ years working in a hybrid infrastructure environment. Experience serving as Tier 3 technical support role. Demonstrated experience in cloud‑based solutions using platforms such as Cloudflare, Microsoft 365, Azure, Salesforce, WP Engine, and virtualization. Experience with networking technologies, including Windows Server, network services (DNS, DHCP, VLAN, LDAP, VPN, Active Directory, Hyper‑V, load balances, and firewalls). Experience with hybrid architecture, including Azure (Storage, Entra ID & Connect, Intune, Conditional Access, and MFA). Experience implementing or overseeing IT standards, policies, and compliance frameworks (PCI, SOC 2, data privacy, controls, etc.). Demonstrated ability to produce documentation including SOPs, architectural diagrams, and presentations. Able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non‑technical audiences, including executives, staff, and external stakeholders. Proven success leading cross‑functional project teams, stakeholders, and delivering solutions from concept through implementation. Working Conditions This position is based in the Washington, D.C. office. SEIA employees in the Washington, D.C. region follow a hybrid model. Employees work 3 to 4 days a week in an office environment and as needed when there are special events or meetings, but otherwise, they can be remote. Minimal travel is required for this role (all‑staff events and gatherings). Occasionally required to work after business hours to perform system maintenance, deployment, or support business events. Compensation Range $120,000–$130,000 annually , based on experience, with an excellent benefits package.
