Lead Full Stack Engineer

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Lead Fullstack Engineer to help build and scale a new Embedded Payments team responsible for modernizing and expanding a business-critical payments platform serving law firms across its SaaS portfolio. This is a true player-coach role, spending approximately 70% hands-on in code and architecture and 30% leading engineers, while owning technical direction, delivery, code quality, engineering standards, and platform modernization initiatives.

This individual will help design, build, and support payment-related functionality including payment processing, billing, Stripe Connect integrations, ACH/eCheck transactions, payouts, reconciliation, PCI-compliant systems, and money movement workflows. The role will work closely with product, QA, design, and nearshore engineering teams while helping consolidate legacy payment solutions into a unified platform.

Skills and Requirements

Direct experience working on SaaS products/software sold to customers

.NET and C# expertise

React and Azure (or similar) expertise

Has owned architecture, delivery, system design, and engineering standards while remaining hands-on.

Career stability

Strong leadership experience

Strong software engineering fundamentals

Expert-level experience with C# and .NET

Strong experience with React and TypeScript

Experience building and supporting microservices architectures

2+ years of cloud experience (Azure preferred)

Strong architecture and system design experience

Proven technical leadership experience while remaining hands-on

Experience mentoring engineers and maintaining engineering standards

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Ownership mentality with a track record of driving results

Experience working with distributed and/or nearshore teams

Familiarity with AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex Payments Platform experience

Stripe Connect experience

Payment processing platform experience

ACH/eCheck experience

Reconciliation experience

PCI-compliant systems experience

Money movement platform experience

SaaS product development experience

Experience leading platform modernization initiatives

Experience driving adoption of AI development tools across engineering teams
