Registered Nurse RN Critical Care Resource Team

Position Summary Medical/Surgical Float Registered Nurse (RN) supports patient care across the facility, including Medical Surgical, PCU, Critical Care, ED, and ICU units. The role coordinates bed assignment, unit staffing, house supervision, emergency preparedness, patient transports, dispatch, and data analysis within Clinical Care Operations at Banner Baywood Medical Center, Mesa, AZ. Core Functions Assess patients’ physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, and cultural needs; review histories, diagnostics, and lab data; communicate abnormal findings to physicians and appropriate caregivers. Formulate and implement individualized plans of care, including discharge planning, using assessment data and multidisciplinary input; revise plans as patient status changes. Deliver direct patient care, coordinate, delegate, and supervise health‑care team activities; ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Evaluate patient and family responses to care and education; adjust plans as needed to meet goals and outcomes. Document all assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record accurately and timely. Provide care based on best evidence, participate in research activities, shared leadership, and educational roles; mentor and precept others where appropriate. Contribute to society by improving national nursing quality indicators; engage in professional organizations. Supervise staff and workflow as assigned. Maintain communication with all staff levels, external contacts, and clergy to support patient and family care. Minimum Qualifications Current, valid RN license in Arizona or acceptable compact/license status; BLS certification required. Relevant clinical experience in the specialty area applying; at least one year in an acute‑care hospital setting for Registry and Travel positions. Proficiency in operating a personal vehicle, valid driver’s license, and active auto insurance for home‑health roles. Required Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card and Criminal History Affidavit for behavioral health or home‑care roles. Demonstrated ability to maintain clinical performance competencies through annual validations. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. Professional certification.
