We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to support day-to-day financial operations for a long-term contract opportunity in Richmond, Virginia. This position focuses on accurate invoice handling, timely payment coordination, and dependable record maintenance to help ensure smooth accounts payable activity. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with high-volume data and vendor-related documentation.

Responsibilities:
• Review and process incoming invoices with accuracy and attention to established payment procedures.
• Enter financial and vendor-related information into internal records while maintaining a high level of data accuracy.
• Organize and update vendor documentation to keep files current, complete, and easy to access.
• Prepare and coordinate payments in alignment with approval timelines and company policies.
• Sort, distribute, and manage mailed invoices to ensure prompt handling and proper routing.
• Reconcile invoice details with supporting information and follow up on discrepancies when needed.• Experience working in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support function.
• Strong data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
• Familiarity with maintaining vendor records and supporting documentation.
• Ability to manage invoice processing and payment activities in a timely manner.
• Solid organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Clear communication skills for working with internal teams and external vendors.
