Activity Director

Riverside Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing is located in Castleton, NY, 9 miles from Albany, and is looking for a full-time Activity Director!

Nurse Manager – Castleton, NY

Schedules Available: Full Time, Monday – Friday, 40 hour/week; exempt position

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the planning, coordination, and participation in the Activity Department.
• Plans, schedules, implements, and actively participate in programs of individual and group activities based on residents' needs.
• Maintains awareness of special diets, allergies, and restrictions of all residents.
• Completes the activity assessment within required time of admission and annually.
• Formulates care plan in relation to residents' activity needs and interests, including MDS.
• Acts as a member of the interdisciplinary team and attends resident care conferences.
• Document interactions with residents and/or family in the assessment and care plan as required by State regulations.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Is licensed or registered or
• Eligible for certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or as an activities professional by a recognized accrediting body on or after October 1 1990 or
• 2 years experience in a social or recreational program within the last 5 years, one of which was full-time in a therapeutic activities program or
• Qualified occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant or
• Has completed training course approved by the State.
• Experience in DOH survey process (preferred)
