Senior Scientist, Molecular and Cellular Bacteriology

Pfizer seeks a Senior Scientist with deep expertise in molecular and cellular bacteriology to support bacterial vaccine preclinical research and development. The role involves designing and optimizing assays, characterizing disease-causing bacterial isolates, and generating data to inform antigen selection and vaccine coverage strategies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, optimize, and apply molecular and cellular assays for bacterial vaccine discovery and development
• Culture, maintain, and characterize bacterial strains and disease-causing isolates for assay development
• Generate and interpret laboratory data to support vaccine target antigen identification and prioritization
• Author scientific documents including study reports, regulatory submissions, abstracts, and peer-reviewed manuscripts
• Provide technical mentorship to junior scientists and collaborate across multidisciplinary vaccine teams

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 9+ years experience, Master's with 7+ years, or Ph.D. in biology-related field
• Hands-on experience with bacterial culture and molecular/cellular assays
• Ability to generate, analyze, and interpret complex biological datasets
• Excellent written and verbal scientific communication with publications and conference presentation experience
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant scientific software
• Strong organizational skills and ability to work in fast-paced collaborative environment

Compensation: $93,600-$156,000 base salary, plus 12.5% bonus target and long-term incentive eligibility
