School Occupational Therapist - Kenner, Louisiana

Job Description

Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a dynamic school-based setting dedicated to making a difference in students’ lives. A contract opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist to support PreK–8th grade students in a collaborative, enriching environment. You’ll work full-time onsite alongside other dedicated therapy professionals, including a PT and an APE, and benefit from COTA assistance once a week. The role is set in a supportive academy where you’ll help students develop the skills they need to achieve both academic and personal success.

Qualifications:

Current Occupational Therapist (OT) licensure in Louisiana
Experience with school-aged students, ideally across PreK–8th grade
Strong communication and organization skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, other therapists, and support staff
Commitment to creating individualized treatment plans tailored to each student’s needs
Flexibility and adaptability in a diverse school environment

Responsibilities:

Provide direct occupational therapy services to PreK–8th grade students in an academic setting
Assess students to identify needs, set goals, and develop individualized treatment interventions
Maintain accurate records, reports, and required documentation for student progress
Work closely with teachers, families, and other support professionals to integrate therapy into the classroom experience
Consult and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including a shared office with PT and APE professionals
Supervise or coordinate with a COTA one day per week to maximize student outcomes
