Occupational Therapist School Setting in Marrero, LA

Job Description

Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a pivotal role providing Occupational Therapy services to students from PreK through 8th grade. As a valued professional in this contract opportunity, you’ll work full-time within a supportive educational setting, offering your expertise to help children thrive academically, socially, and developmentally. Your workspace is shared with a dedicated Physical Therapist and Adapted Physical Education professional, and you’ll benefit from the assistance of a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant one day each week.

Key Qualifications:

Active Occupational Therapy (OT) license for Louisiana
Experience in school-based occupational therapy strongly preferred
Ability to support diverse student needs, including those with developmental, sensory, or physical challenges
Comfortable collaborating with educational teams and families
Strong organizational, communication, and documentation abilities

What You’ll Do:

Provide targeted OT services to PreK-8th grade students based on individualized education plans (IEPs)
Conduct assessments, develop treatment goals, and document progress
Collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and allied professionals to integrate therapy into daily routines
Educate families and school teams on strategies to enhance student participation and independence
Adapt classroom materials and environments to facilitate student access and learning
Maintain timely, accurate therapy records in accordance with state and district guidelines

This contract runs from August through May, aligning with the academic school year and typical hours of 8:00am to 4:30pm, onsite at a vibrant learning community in Louisiana.
