Occupational Therapist School Setting - Marrero, LA

Job Description

Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An exciting opportunity awaits for a passionate Occupational Therapist interested in supporting students across PreK-8th grade. This contract role involves providing on-site therapy services within a vibrant school environment, with an office shared alongside a Physical Therapist and Adaptive Physical Education professional. You’ll collaborate weekly with a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and enjoy a full-time schedule, typically from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Preferred Qualifications:

Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license (required)
Prior experience in a school setting, especially with PreK-8th grade, is highly desirable
Strong understanding of pediatric occupational therapy practice and IEP processes
Enthusiasm for working within a multidisciplinary team
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Comfortable adapting interventions to diverse and dynamic learning needs

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver direct and consultative OT services to students in PreK-8
Complete evaluations, develop and implement individualized intervention plans
Participate actively in IEP meetings and maintain compliance documentation
Work alongside supportive colleagues, including a PT, APE, and a COTA who assists one day per week
Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and families
Help promote functional independence and access to educational programming
Maintain accurate records of assessments and progress

Additional Details:

Full-time contract position covering the academic year from August to May
Onsite role with a dynamic, collaborative team environment
Office space shared with allied professionals for supportive peer interaction
