About the Position

We are seeking a hands-on Facilities Manager to oversee the day-to-day maintenance, safety, and operation of multiple facilities and properties. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of facility management, property maintenance, vendor coordination, contractor management, and project support .

You will work closely with staff, vendors, contractors, volunteers, and property management to ensure facilities are safe, functional, clean, and ready for daily operations and community events.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of facilities, grounds, equipment, and properties.

• Coordinate maintenance, custodial, landscaping, security, and other facility services .

• Perform minor repairs and troubleshoot routine maintenance issues.

• Conduct regular property and facility inspections and address safety, maintenance, and appearance concerns.

• Coordinate vendors, contractors, property managers, and service providers.

• Schedule service calls, obtain bids, monitor contractor work, and ensure projects are completed properly and on time.

• Maintain facility equipment inventories, maintenance records, and replacement schedules.

• Coordinate apartment turns, inspections, and property readiness .

• Support facility budgets, capital improvement projects, and long-term maintenance planning.

• Prepare meeting rooms, training spaces, volunteer events, and special programs.

• Work with staff, volunteers, and community partners on facility improvement and cleanup projects.

• Support emergency preparedness, safety, and risk management activities.

• Respond to urgent maintenance issues and occasional after-hours facility emergencies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• 2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, facilities operations, property management, building maintenance, or a related field.

• Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, or service providers .

• Hands-on ability to perform minor repairs and troubleshoot maintenance issues.

• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

• Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation.

Preferred

• Technical training or certification in facilities, maintenance, construction, or property management.

• Experience with residential, multifamily, housing, nonprofit, or community-based properties .

• Experience managing contractors, projects, volunteers, or work teams.

• Experience with facility budgeting, capital improvements, or long-term maintenance planning.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk, stand, bend, kneel, climb stairs, and work throughout the day.

• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.

• Comfortable using ladders, maintenance tools, and basic power tools.

• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Ability to travel between properties.

• Availability for occasional after-hours emergencies.
