Supervisory Public Affairs Specialist

This position is located in Region 9, Regional Administrator, External Affairs. The ideal candidate for this position will provide expert, technical and managerial experience to lead a full-spectrum communications and partner engagement team while maintaining stakeholder relationships including state, local, tribal, territorial governments, non governmental and private sector. The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of the announcement. To qualify for this position at the GS-15 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: Establishing and managing public information and external engagement strategies within an emergency management setting; Collaborating with the media; Collaborating with key stakeholders in at least 3 of the following areas: (a) State or local officials (b) Congressional offices (c) private sector, tribal or territorial government; Managing or supervising staff and overseeing program execution.
