Responsibilities
- Provide direct care for adult patients in the Cardiac Telemetry unit, including rhythm interpretation and continuous monitoring
- Monitor telemetry strips, interpret rhythms, and respond to significant rhythm changes
- Administer and manage cardiac medications and drips (no titration required)
- Monitor external pacemakers and chest tubes; support post-cardiac procedures (post PCI, post-op cardiac)
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (cardiology, ICU, radiology, therapy services) and document patient status in the EHR (EPIC)
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and education within the scope of telemetry care

Requirements
- RN license (active) or eligibility with pending license accepted; MO may submit without license, IL license in hand required at submittal; compact state requirements apply; local candidates within 75 miles are not preferred
- Telemetry/rhythm interpretation experience required (2 years minimum)
- Certifications: BLS (BCLS) and NIHSS required; ACLS and CPI preferred
- Ability to work within the Cardiac Telemetry service line and adapt to unit needs; floating within scope as needed
- Pre-start requirements: labs and mandatory modules (typically within 48–72 hours of signing); orientation of 38 hours; vaccines: flu required (COVID-19 not required); fit testing may be required
- RTO: Maximum 7 days; requests >7 days require manager approval; no RTO during the first week
- Vaccination and compliance: documentation due by 3pm CST on the Monday before initial start date
