Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students' growth and independence as a school-based Occupational Therapist near Dowagiac, MI. This full-time position is vital from ASAP through the end of the school year, allowing you to make a direct, positive impact on children in an educational environment.
Your expertise in Pediatric OT, school-based OT practice, and knowledge of healthcare or home health OT settings will be essential as you collaborate with educators, families, and other therapists. Provide evaluations, develop targeted treatment plans, and deliver individualized therapy to help students reach their full potential.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid OT license in Michigan (or eligibility to obtain)
- Previous pediatric, school-based, or home health OT experience strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Passion for fostering student success and independence
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver OT services in accordance with IEPs and state guidelines
- Assess, plan, and implement therapy for students with diverse needs
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families
- Monitor progress, document outcomes, and adjust goals as necessary
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student support plans
- Educate and empower school staff on OT practices
