Service Desk Technician (Desktop Support Focus)

Position Overview:

Our client, is seeking a hands-on Service Desk Technician to provide desktop, hardware, and end-user support across the organization. While the position sits within the Service Desk team, this role is heavily focused on hands-on desktop support, device deployment, troubleshooting, and issue resolution rather than exclusively taking inbound help desk calls.

The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with end users, diagnosing technical issues, building and deploying PCs, and serving as a key resource for hardware and connectivity support. This is an onsite role that offers strong earning potential through bonus and overtime opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, laptop, hardware, and peripheral issues.

Build, configure, deploy, and support Windows-based PCs and workstations.

Provide break/fix support for end-user computing devices.

Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues, including network and wireless access problems.

Support printers, monitors, docking stations, and other endpoint technologies.

Respond to Service Desk tickets and provide exceptional customer support.

Escalate complex issues when required while maintaining ownership of incidents.

Assist with workstation moves, installations, and equipment upgrades.

Document issues, resolutions, and support activities within ticketing systems.

Partner with Infrastructure, Network, and Security teams as needed.

Required Qualifications:

Experience in desktop support, help desk, or service desk environments.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Experience building and deploying PCs and workstations.

Hardware support and break/fix experience.

Experience supporting Windows operating systems and Microsoft technologies.

Knowledge of connectivity troubleshooting, including network and wireless issues.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Ability to manage multiple tickets and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation:

This position is non-exempt and eligible for both overtime and bonus opportunities.

Additional Compensation:

Eligible for overtime pay

Average annual bonus payout of approximately 33% of target

Maximum bonus opportunity of 40%

This is a Permanent position based out of Fort Wayne, IN.

The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $75000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
