Registered Nurse (RN)This position is for a Registered Nurse with a focus on medical-surgical oncology. Candidates should be prepared for a 12-hour rotating contract that may involve day, night, or combination shifts based on departmental needs. Shift assignments will be reviewed every four weeks, but changes are not guaranteed.The majority of patients will require care related to:Continuous cardiac monitoring during chemotherapy administrationManagement of soft tissue malignancies, including diagnostic services and chemotherapySymptom management associated with disease treatment or progressionManagement of comorbiditiesA significant emphasis is placed on adhering to infection prevention protocols and strategies to prevent patient falls.Familiarity with the following equipment is preferred:B450 monitors (GE telemetry system)Bladder scannerAlaris pumpsStryker bedsMinimum of 2 years of RN experience requiredCertifications: BCLSPatient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuityPrevious travel experience is preferredEPIC experience is requiredSkills required include:Interpretation of dysrhythmiasAccessing portsArterial line managementBlood product administrationCentral line care and managementPICC line managementIV startsAssistance with chest tube insertion and removalUse of high flow nasal cannula (HFNC)Interpretation of ABGsAgency staff have the option to select from various parking permits, including:WMC Monthly Permit: 24/7 access to the garageWB Annual Permit: Weekend and holiday access to specified garagesCXS Annual Permit: Access to various locations on weekends and holidaysPlease note that parking costs and options may change according to parking policies.This role provides an exciting opportunity for skilled RNs looking to work in a dynamic oncology environment while focusing on evidence-based patient care practices.
