Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technician We currently have an opening available for second and third shift. Starting pay is $28-$29 per hour (OT at 1.5x after 40 hrs. weekly). Shift options: 2nd shift: Monday - Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM, shift differential $0.85 3rd shift: Sunday - Thursday, 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM, shift differential $1.15 Benefits Benefits begin Day 1 Generous vacation (10 days), personal (9 days) and holiday (8 days) pay 401K retirement savings with 6% company match Annual bonus up to 4% Medical insurance with HSA Tuition reimbursement Active diversity and inclusion networks Employee referral bonus Key Responsibilities Analyze mechanical problems on assigned equipment, plan and execute corrective actions, perform necessary repairs and adjustments to maintain maximum production efficiency and quality, test equipment operation after repairs or installations and notify relevant personnel of the operational status, assist with new equipment installations as needed. Perform minor repairs on flooring, concrete, drywall, painting, lighting, process, pneumatic and water piping (potable and fire protection), move furniture, miscellaneous boxes and files as required, assist with inventory management, and keep storerooms and shop clean and organized. Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on assigned equipment by visually inspecting, greasing, testing safety switches, measuring with go-no-go gauges, recording critical information, oil analysis, and reporting adverse findings to the Maintenance Manager to maximize equipment uptime. Comply with all HSE policies, report any concerns that may adversely affect health, safety, or the environment, attend monthly safety meetings, maintain a neat, clean and safe work area, work safely and require others to do the same, adhere to AkzoNobel’s Code of Conduct, and correct or notify supervisors of unsafe conditions. Perform area housekeeping responsibilities. Assist with on-call duties after hours and weekends. Job Requirements Minimum of a high school diploma, vocational/military training, or two years of related experience. Valid and current driver’s license. Manual dexterity and ability to lift at least 55 pounds. Ability to stand or walk for periods of eight to twelve hours. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Ability to use ladders, hoists, industrial trucks and material handling equipment. Ability to wear a breathing apparatus and other HSE personal protective equipment. Ability to read and comprehend equipment repair manuals, standard operating procedures, and work instructions. Proficient in the safe use of a wide variety of hand tools, measuring devices (tape measures, calipers, gauges, micrometers), and power tools (table saw, cut-off saw, bench grinders, sanders). Skillful in building and grounds maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, pipefitting, and other related operations involving building repair and grounds maintenance.
