Work Environment

This role will be based onsite at our Columbus, Georgia facility, where a collaborative and patient-focused atmosphere thrives. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, including attending physicians, nurses, and support staff, you will engage with a diverse patient demographic to provide a range of outpatient and inpatient services, ensuring continuity of care in both settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ physical and mental health through comprehensive physical examinations and detailed medical history collection.
• Order, collect, and analyze laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging to formulate diagnoses and adapt treatment plans accordingly.
• Prescribe medication and therapeutic treatments aligned with established clinical protocols, while considering efficacy, safety, and cost.
• Develop tailored, evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare providers, continuously evaluating patient response and adjusting care as necessary.
• Educate patients and their families on managing medical conditions, medication regimens, lifestyle modifications, and promote holistic health and wellness strategies.
• Maintain meticulous and accurate medical records detailing treatment plans and patient outcomes, while ensuring timely clinical consultations and referrals as required.
• Provide specialized care management for patients presenting conditions related to the cardiology specialty and oversee the administration of care across various healthcare settings.
• Perform necessary invasive procedures within the scope of practice as delegated by supervising physicians, ensuring adherence to hospital policies and standards of care.
• Be available for on-call patient care duties to meet departmental coverage during peak times or emergencies, contributing to our team’s flexibility in managing patient needs.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Physician Assistant in our Cardiology Clinic, you will serve a diverse patient population, including adults with a wide range of cardiovascular conditions such as hypertension, heart failure, coronary artery disease, and arrhythmias. Your role will involve both outpatient follow-up care as well as inpatient management during hospital stays, ensuring collaborative and comprehensive patient-focused care across the continuum of the cardiovascular disease management spectrum.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
• Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of Georgia.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a relevant clinical setting, preferably within cardiology.
• Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Proficient knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, and appropriate clinical practice guidelines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and healthcare teams.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a cardiology setting, with familiarity in managing heart-related health issues.
• Demonstrated ability in performing invasive cardiology procedures and understanding of cardiology-specific diagnostic testing.
• Clinical exposure to outpatient care settings, including managing follow-up appointments and coordinating care transitions.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 140,000 to 180,000, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
