Freight Broker Agent - Be a Boss!

About the Role We're looking for experienced, self-driven Freight Agents to operate as independent contractors. This is a true 1099 opportunity -you run your book of business while leveraging our carrier network, back-office support, and technology to move freight efficiently and profitably. If you already have customers and want better support-or you're ready to build your own book without micromanagement-this role is for you.
What You'll Do
What You'll Do
- Source, book, and manage freight across available modes (Dry Van, Reefer, Flatbed, etc.)
- Develop and maintain your own customer relationships and carrier base
- Negotiate rates with shippers and carriers to maximize margin
- Track shipments from pickup to delivery and resolve issues as they arise
- Ensure accurate documentation, compliance, and communication
- Work independently while collaborating with internal operations support as needed
- Previous freight brokerage or logistics experience preferred
- Existing book of business strongly preferred (but not required)
- Strong negotiation, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own pipeline
- Familiarity with TMS systems and freight market trends
- Reliable internet and phone access
- Competitive commission splits
