• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (Day Shift)
• Hours/week: Approximately 40 hours
• Employment Type: Contract / Per Diem
• License/Certifications: Active Physician Assistant license; BLS/ACLS preferred
• Experience: OR experience with vein harvesting strongly preferred; ICU, pre/post-cardiac surgery, and vent management experience required

What You’ll Do:

• Provide rounding in ICU, pre and post-cardiac surgery, managing patients coming off ventilators
• Care for patients recovering from open-heart surgeries, VATS, and lung procedures
• Assist in the management of 10-15 patients on the service at any given time
• Support during surgeries, including vein harvesting (preferred experience)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Document clinical findings and participate inpatient care planning as needed

What You Need:

• Valid Physician Assistant license in Texas or the ability to obtain one quickly
• Minimum of 2 years of recent OR experience in cardiovascular or cardiothoracic surgery
• Strong knowledge of ICU patient management, ventilator care, and post-surgical care
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work flexible hours and last-minute coverage
