Behavioral Health Therapist

Description Summary: The Behavioral Health Therapist position is available as either full-time or part-time, onsite, with day shift hours. This role provides individual and group therapy services to clients across the lifespan—including both adults and children—supporting their mental health needs in alignment with MDI Hospital’s Integrated Care Philosophy. The therapist collaborates closely with the clinical supervisor and interdisciplinary clinical team to develop and implement effective treatment plans. Requirements Education, Training, or Certifications Required Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or a related field Current Maine licensure as LCSW, LCPC, LMFT, or LADC (dual licensure in addictions preferred) Experience Minimum of two years’ experience providing mental health therapy Responsibilities Provide age-appropriate individual, family, and group therapy; child and adolescent therapists may also provide play therapy Maintain accurate and timely case records in compliance with regulatory standards Refer clients to external resources as appropriate Develop and deliver internal educational sessions for staff and team development Collaborate with the clinical supervisor and clinical team to develop and implement treatment plans Participate in team-building efforts and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors Demonstrate flexibility in responding to urgent client needs and scheduling adjustments Special Requirements Strong interpersonal and emotional maturity Effective verbal and written communication skills Ability to drive as needed for job responsibilities Physical Demands Use of telephone and computer (VDT) Office and clinical settings #J-18808-Ljbffr Mount Desert Island Hospital
