Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant – Regulated Utilities – Houston, TX We are supporting a well-established energy management platform on a Senior Accountant opportunity focused on regulated utility accounting. This role will support the accounting build-out for a newly established electric transmission entity and is a strong fit for someone with hands-on regulated utility accounting experience who understands ASC 980, FERC accounting, rate base, regulatory assets/liabilities, and utility infrastructure accounting. What our client is looking for: 5–7 years of accounting experience in regulated utilities Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and ASC 980 – Regulated Operations Experience with FERC accounting or a FERC chart of accounts Exposure to rate base, regulatory assets/liabilities, deferrals, or rate case support Experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, support schedules, and financial reporting Experience with utility infrastructure accounting, ideally electric transmission assets Ability to interpret regulatory rulings, PUC rate orders, and accounting treatment CPA or CPA-track preferred, but not required Ability to work independently in a developing / build-out environment Strong communication skills and ability to work with internal leadership, asset managers, attorneys, consultants, and external advisors Why this role is attractive: Hybrid schedule: M/W/F in office, Tuesday/Thursday remote Target base compensation around $110K–$125K 15%–20% bonus to start Short path to Accounting Manager for someone who can own the function High visibility to senior accounting leadership Opportunity to become the internal subject-matter expert for regulated utility/transmission accounting Broad accounting ownership, not a narrow or siloed accounting role Exposure from source documents through financial statements Location: Houston, TX Schedule: Hybrid Compensation: $110K–$125K base + 15%–20% bonus #J-18808-Ljbffr Primary Recruiting Services
