Platform Engineer

Akkodis is seeking a Platform Engineer for a Contract to hire with a client in Austin, TX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and scaling secure cloud-native infrastructure on AWS while enabling reliable CI/CD pipelines and developer platforms.

Rate Range: $56/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.


Platform Engineer Job Responsibilities include:

• Design, build, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure ensuring scalability, security, and cost efficiency.
• Develop and maintain Kubernetes (EKS) clusters, including deployments, scaling, and service configurations.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible for automated provisioning and configuration.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous integration, testing, and deployment.
• Develop automation using Python to enhance platform capabilities and developer experience.
• Monitor system performance and reliability using observability tools, ensuring high availability and rapid issue resolution.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• 6-8 years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS (EKS, EC2, S3, VPC), Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Proficiency in Python automation, CI/CD pipeline development, and implementing DevSecOps and observability practices in cloud-native environments.

Pay Details: $56.00 to $60.00 per hour
