Mechanical Maintenance Foreman Talen Energy is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Foreman for the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station near Berwick, Pennsylvania. Susquehanna Steam Electric Station is one of the largest dual‑unit boiling water reactor sites in the U.S., delivering approximately 2700 MW of electricity to the grid in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The purpose of this position is to provide direction and oversight for crew work, enforce Nuclear Department goals, and ensure crew members adhere to station programs, procedures, work plans, and plant standards. Primary Responsibilities Layout and implement strategies to complete work assignments per the scheduled times. Direct and supervise work performed in the plant, labs, and shops by maintenance personnel. Help crew members develop work‑related skills and perform task evaluations for worker certification. Answer technical work‑related questions for the crew. Develop troubleshooting plans and direct troubleshooting activities for equipment‑related problems to pinpoint exact issues. Enforce Nuclear Department goals and expectations. Provide feedback to planning when better or more cost‑effective ways of performing jobs are identified. Motivate the crew while performing tasks, maintaining an open mind and positive attitude. Maintain necessary qualifications and expertise to respond and lead in plant response to upset conditions within the Nuclear Emergency Response Organization. Basic Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a nuclear power plant, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and testing a wide variety of equipment typical to nuclear power generating stations. Preferred Qualifications Good knowledge of the systems within a power plant. Strong technical ability on almost all plant equipment that could break down. Good interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and correct direct reports and peers. Task certified on equipment being reworked; Energy Control Process certified; Emergency Plan Position certified.
