Registered Respiratory Therapist

Assist Respiratory Care Practitioners in patient care according to professional practice standards, while providing support for Genesis HealthCare System. Assembles, assures cleanliness and working condition of all equipment used in providing respiratory care.

Essential duties include collecting and evaluating clinical information, administering respiratory therapy treatments, evaluating and monitoring patients' response to respiratory care, selecting and maintaining equipment, conducting therapeutic procedures, staying current with department information, documenting patient care services, maintaining a safe and clean working environment, and protecting hospital operations by keeping information confidential.

Qualifications include being currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory Therapy program, holding a current limited permit issued by the Medical Board of Ohio, taking the credentialing exam within 90 days of graduation, obtaining the NRBC RRT credential and Ohio Respiratory Care license within one year of graduation date, having BLS certification, and displaying therapeutic skills, attention to detail, and the ability to organize and prioritize under pressure.

Working conditions and physical requirements include working in a hospital environment, traveling to all floors and driving to other locations, using personal computer and medical equipment, lifting and moving various weights, having vision abilities, and being willing to work all shifts, extra hours, holidays, and emergency shifts as required.
