Alila Ventana Big Sur is seeking a highly organized, professional, and service-oriented HR Coordinator to support the Human Resources team during a temporary assignment from now through December 2026. Set along the dramatic Big Sur coastline, Alila Ventana Big Sur is a distinctive luxury resort known for its personalized guest experience, wellness offerings, culinary program, and connection to the surrounding natural environment. This position provides an opportunity to support the colleague experience at a unique luxury resort while gaining exposure to a broad range of Human Resources functions. The HR Coordinator will provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department, with a focus on recruiting coordination, onboarding, colleague communication, personnel records, training support, and general HR administration. The ideal candidate is organized, discreet, approachable, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospitality environment. Key Responsibilities Provide administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department. Assist with recruiting activities, including candidate communication, interview scheduling, application follow-up, and onboarding coordination. Support the new colleague onboarding process and help ensure a welcoming and organized first-day experience. Prepare onboarding materials, forms, training schedules, badges, and other required documentation. Maintain accurate and organized personnel files and HR records in accordance with company policies and applicable requirements. Assist colleagues with general HR questions and direct inquiries to the appropriate HR team member when necessary. Support timekeeping, attendance tracking, HR reports, and other administrative processes as assigned. Assist with training coordination, including scheduling, attendance tracking, communication, and maintaining training records. Support colleague meetings, engagement activities, recognition programs, and HR events. Assist with internal HR communications, announcements, forms, and policy reminders. Maintain confidentiality when handling colleague information, personnel records, and other sensitive matters. Support compliance-related activities and ensure required documentation is complete and organized. Assist with employee relations documentation and administrative follow-up as directed by HR leadership. Coordinate with department leaders to support hiring, onboarding, training, and colleague needs. Assist with HR projects and special assignments as needed during the temporary period. Maintain a professional, approachable, and service-focused presence when interacting with colleagues, candidates, managers, and resort leadership. Perform other Human Resources duties as assigned. This is an hourly position with a compensation ranging from $24-$26 per hour. Previous experience in a hotel, resort, luxury hospitality, or service-oriented environment strongly preferred. Strong organizational and administrative skills with excellent attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive information. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience with HRIS, applicant tracking systems, scheduling systems, or other HR technology preferred. Ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization. Strong customer service mindset and professional demeanor. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
