Transportation Engineer III

Your future position: Transportation Engineer III Choose your location: Peoria Heights, IL About The Role, Your Impact Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Transportation Engineer III in our Peoria, IL office. This position will primarily consist of design engineering efforts on a variety of transportation projects and field presence for State, County, and Local Agencies. This team-oriented position will include working with Baxter & Woodman’s diverse disciplines and offices within the transportation and construction fields. What Your Day-to-day Will Look Like Manage/Complete engineering plans and specifications production using IDOT Standards. Complete Federal Aid projects for a variety of clients. Lead a variety of projects and study types including roadway, underground utility, drainage, traffic, and infrastructure improvements. Complete general civil engineering services for municipal, county and state clients. Assist with business development and client management opportunities for transportation and infrastructure projects is preferred but not required. Coordinate construction activities with clients, inspectors, contractors and public agencies. Conduct on-site observation of work, repairs, and tests as needed. Education/Certification Requirements B.S. degree in Civil Engineering Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois (or ability to acquire within 6 months) Must-haves, What You Will Bring 5+ years of relevant experience with municipal or highway agency transportation projects. Knowledge of OpenRoads Designer and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D, Civil 3D. Ability to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s service area (own transportation). Ability to independently handle a variety of ongoing tasks and responsibilities. Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills. Work within a team-first culture that encourages individual development and accomplishment of goals. Compensation The pay range for this role is $90,000 to $120,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications. You matter!
